Once I became ill in Winton, Queensland, and the Royal Flying Doctor was about to be called to transport me to Mount Isa for an appendectomy. However me being the know-it-all, I've a tendency to be at times, I signed myself out of hospital and drove to Alice Springs, saw a doctor there and confirmed, it was not appendicitis and the condition settled down of its own accord. Okay, so that worked out well for me. However, if I'd really needed them the Royal Flying Doctor might have saved my live. They save many lives. We need to support them.
As well as doing health checks with volunteer medical students they will also have their aeromedical simulator there - which is a replica of a flying doctor's aircraft fuselage. Go along and support this essential Australian service.
Their stand is sure to be great fun with a replica Flying Doctor aircraft and free health checks. http://bit.ly/15LkmzP
