Mystical is a short sample of the writing of diverse genre author J.E. Michelle.
As Jack lay next to Tina, all he could think of was how he'd missed her all these months. He pushed back the hair that fell across her face and kissed her lips. She didn't respond with a kiss like before, she was already deep in her sleep. Tina looked beautiful even while she slept, her small face held a smile that warmed his heart. The same smile that had knocked him off his game the first time he had really seen her.
Going to Christoph's wine shop had always been a simple job assignment. Jack would drive the drinks from the factory to the old man's store and deliver the required crates of apple wine then he would leave. Three months ago had been the first time he had bothered to pay attention to the sales person, it was because of how clumsy she was with everything that had dragged his attention to her.
Brown hair with dyed blonde tips fell across her face, but he could tell she wasn't the regular girl he'd been meeting here. Her eyes were blue with a tint of silver in them, making it difficult for Jack to hold her stare.
" Hi, sorry I'm slow. "
" Hi, are you new here?
Her reply was a smile and a nod. Her teeth had braces, but it defined her beauty.
" Actually I'm Christoph's daughter, Tina. I'm on holidays, thought I should come around to help. " she shook Jack's hand and signed the delivery booklet.
He'd never seen the old man's daughter, although he'd heard she was in school. The other guys said she was pretty and often argued who would likely bed her when she was home for the holidays. Some said they'd won kisses from her and others said they got to touch buttocks and whatever part of her body they'd opted for.
Seeing her in the flesh had cleared all those thoughts out of his twenty six years old brain. There was no way any of the guys had even said more than a hello to her. She was tall, slim built but had chubby cheeks. She was twenty years old and maybe it was the stars smiling down at Jack but they shared a birthday.
After choosing to leave his business empire in New York for a soul searching quest, he was just finding something worth the time. Tina made the few weeks she was home interesting for them both. First they were friends and before long they became lovers. He'd never spoken to her about his life in New York, didn't want her to think he was the playboy the world thought him to be or drag her into the mess he left behind. He was done with that life now, he was in love.
Tina knew there were blank spaces in their conversations. She wanted to know all about him but loving Jack was all that mattered now. Someday when he was ready, he'd tell her all about it including his last name.
Staring at her sleep now made Jack feel different. For once he felt like a protector, not the beast of New York whom unknowingly preyed on women. He pulled her lips to his and kissed her, this time he was wild and she woke up returning the kiss with the same fierceness he was giving.
She loved him, this handsome black haired stranger with a charisma that lit her spirits.
