Port Vincent is a small town on the east coast of Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, 194 km from Adelaide by road. At the 2006 census, Port Vincent had a population of 472.
The Narangga Aborigines inhabited the area prior to white settlement.
In its early days it was a port exporting wheat, barley wool and mallee stumps ( firewood ). Now Port Turton is worth a visit. And as for fishing catches. Talk to the locals and they'll tell you any day's a good day to catch fish at Point Turton. Located near the foot of Yorke Peninsula about 240 kilometres from Adelaide, this little town shows no signs of slowing when it comes to the seachange phenomenon gripping much of the nation. Magnificent coastal scenery. Point Turton is a coastal town 114 kilometres west of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the District Council of Yorke Peninsula
